In Stage 1, in the area where you get into the ship's engine room with big fuel tanks, shoot through the first wave of enemies. Then, on the second wave straight ahead behind the enemies should be a fuel tank. Shoot it until it explodes. This will save ammunition and time.
In Area 2 of Stage 2, after you cross the floating docks you must fight two "Commanders". Shoot the box labeled "Danger" three times to score 5,000 bonus point and to save some time.
After the Tower (whether you blew it up or not), there will be a normal shooting scene, then a scene where you can shoot the barrels. Shoot them until they explode (usually three) to collect 5,000 bonus points and to speed up the game.
In the first level when you reach the part when you see a tower, shoot at it with the grenade launcher. Wait for a few seconds and it should burst into flames.
