Tips on Defeating BossesWhenever you are about to fight a boss make sure Rose is in your party. You can tell your about to fight a boss if u find a save point deep into a dungeon. Have your SP to the maximum for each party member and make sure that each member can transform into a Dragoon. Once the battle starts use Rose's special and cast Astrol Drain as many times as you can. I've been able to do up to 400 points of damage with it on the first disc. After the special wears off keep using normal attacks and additions so that your spirit gets to its maximum fast enough to use another special. Also, if you have the power wrist equipped, use the special of that person so that a normal Dragoon attack can deal near 200 points of damage. Make sure you have plenty of Heeling Potions and a good amount of Mind Purifiers incase the boss can cast status effecting magic (like the beast in the Hellana Prison dungeon.) Make sure you save often because bosses often come in pairs of two. Killing the last boss [Melbu Frama]When you are fighting the last boss don't use the Divine dragoon. Also buy about 20 healing breezez. Your level should be 50-55. Note:When Melbu Frama gets to his last generation [4] he will bring 2 little beasts. They may look harmless but when they attack, if you are under level 35 it will do 5000 dm. I expirianced. Also use Dart, Rose and Kongol in you party. They will help alot!! Beating Sandra special soldier and KongolBefore you go to 'Hocus', buy lots of magic items from the item store and make sure that all your characters are atleast at level 6.
Sandra special soldier: Only use physical attacks against him and don't waste your magic items to try to defeat this guy. When he transforms into three, the one that uses magic is the real one. (If you can't figure out the real one, than keep doing guard)
Kongol: This guy is very strong!!! Only use magic against him. (If you use physical attacks than you will be counterattacked with more damaged hp to you!] Keep using magic attacks and using the option 'Guard' which will restore your HP. More damage When you are in battle with a character that can do Additions and you select Attack and you are charging at the enemy as the outer square closes in on the inner square press the X button just as the two squares hit and if your timing is done right you can hit them an extra time giving you more SP and dealing out more damage. With different Additions you can do more and more damage. Kongols spirt DragoonAn easer way of getting Kongols spirt dragoon is to buy it from the merchient in Lohan ( the one who sells you the water bottle). Kongol must be on your team. Ultimate WargodYou can buy an Ultimate Wargod in Lohan. It makes your additions perform perfectly without any penalty. It may cost 10,000, which may be very hard to get at this point in the game. However, it makes battles much easier and your Dragoons will still level up. HealingThe following trick allows you to heal without a Mind or Body Purifieron stock. Later on in the game when you have Dragoon Spirits, turn Dragoon and the status will be gone. Temple trapsWhen you are in the temple looking for the Dragoni plant to save Shana on Disc 1, there are several traps set to delay you progress. The first is a number combination -- the combo is 352. Almost directly after that are two statues that must be turned in the correct direction to allow you to reach the top of the stairs. There statues are gold and stone. Leave the gold statue facing the front and turn the stone statue to the left. As soon as this is done, you can run up the stairs to find help for Shana.

5) Go to the drunk guy and ride the boat and it will ask you to get off or stay on, get off and go to the door and press X around there and you will find one. Saving Dragoon powerTry save your Dragoon power for the Bosses.
Note: When you are fight Lloyd and the Divine Dragon do not transform into a Dragoon. If you do, they will apply more damage to you. Only have Meru or Miranda transform to heal your party. However, only have them transform if they have 100 SP (Dragoon gauge at 1). More healing per turnEquip the Dragon Helm together with the Therapy Ring. The Dragon Helmet increases your maximum HP by 50% and the Therapy Ring restores your HP each turn by 10%. Healed without any itemRun into a battle. Kill all the enemies except for one of your choice -- it is better to keep the weaker enemy for the end). Just guard yourself until you are fully healed.
Run into an enemy that uses a physical attack barrier. Then, guard as many times as needed to get healed. Easy Healing RainsYou can get as many Healing Rains as needed on disc 1 for only 600 coins each. Go to the mini-game place in Lohnda and talk to the man who sells tickets. Keep asking his for 10 tickets until you have 60. Then, talk to him again but ask him to exchange tickets for prizes. Select "Healing Rain". You can do this as many times as needed, as you have 600 coins. Easy Recovery BallsIn the Death Frontier, fight the Cactuses that dot the landscape. When you defeat them, more often then not they will give you a Recovery Ball or two. The Cacti close the wall near the passage to second area (before the first oasis) is guaranteed to five a free Recovery Ball. Restoring statusIf someone is petrified, you cannot use him/her and transform into a Dragoon in order to heal the status. Instead, make sure you always have everyone with Maximum SP and are alive. When there is someone that cannot move (make a turn), just use the "Special" command and the bad status will be healed. Restore HP and MPIf you are hurt, stay in the hotel. It will refill your HP and MP. More MPIf you have a character with strong magic abilities but not enough MP, equip the Magic Hat. It gives you 50% more MP. Saving fasterWhen need to save the game and do not know were the nearest save location is, go to the field guide and press [Triangle]. The word "Save" will be highlighted. Select it and you will be able to save a lot faster. GoldIt is extremely hard to find decent amounts of gold either in battles or lying around (especially if you want to buy items such as the Legend Casque or Ultimate Wargod). The best place to gain gold is in the Home of Gigantos. The enemies here always drop about 50 gold per battle and give decent experience. Stay and fight until you have the desired amount of gold.
Get a specialHave three Dragoons in your party and have their SP meter blinking. When this happens, all the party members will have a Ying-Yang at the side of the screen where you select what you want to do at that moment. Switching additionsDo not switch additions all the time,. You can get the one you are on a lot stronger and with more SP. Final additionTo get the final addition for all characters except Miranda and Shana, master the previous ones. You will then get their 7-hit master combo. Most of them gain SP of over 100 and damage over 400 %. Better additionWhen you are in a combat (battle), press [R2] to switch the view so you can see the picture the way you think it helps you have a successful addition. Hitting additions easierThe key to landing your combos from additions is immediately pressing [X] when the box turns gray. If you do, it will make it a perfect shot and you can do more damage to your opponents. If you are too slow, you will do less damage. Also, stick with an addition that you can learn, such as Dart's Volcano attack. If you need practice hitting the combos and learning the additions, try to encounter enemies in older areas of the game which will you an advantage over them. Easy moneyKeep playing the Chef aboard the ship to get as much money as needed. Predicting monster battlesPress [R1] anywhere but on the world map to turn on the arrows above your head and on the exits. Watch the arrow above your head. It will change colors, indicating when a monster battle is about to happen.
Green: Plenty of time until battle.
Yellow: A little time left.
Red: Monster battle very soon. Disable random monster battlesWhen in the Law Capital Zenebatos, you can disable the random monster battles by amending the law number "666". This is a convenient hidden law amendment, which is nowhere mentioned in the game. Maximum percentage on itemsSome of the items allow you to determine their strength by pressing [X] button. If you have a controller with a turbo feature, enable it and hold [X]. You will get to the maximum percentage, which is 270%. Dart's Soul Eater weaponYou may not like the amount of HP you lose when you block when you have the Soul Eater equipped. Well to avoid this, equip the Therapy Ring so that you recover what you lost.
You can get the Soul Eater in the Death City of Mayfil, not only in the Fort Madrad. Soul Eater's power is unbelievable, but your HP deteriorates every turn. Stronger DartWhen you first start the game and enter the first forest out of the village in Seles, you will see rabbit-like creatures and a merchant to your left. Run around and train until level 10. You will then get over a 1000G and have already mastered two additions. You will also get items sometimes when winning. If you do not need them or have no room, sell them to the merchant. Special weaponWhen you have three characters with a Dragoon Spirit, get into random battles and keep fighting until each of them is at a level 5 "SP" level. A Ying Yang symbol should appear to the far right of the battle menu. Highlight it and press [X]. It will turn your entire party into Dragoons and the person who uses the special will have a sort of ultimate wargod addition. When you attack, it goes through the entire attack without having to press any buttons. This works especially well in Boss battles. Note: This chance does not happen often -- save the special and do not waste it in a random battle.
Just get your maximum Dragoon Spirit up to full (it does not matter if it is below 5). You should see a new symbol. Highlight it and press [X]. Faster KongolEquip Kongol with the Bandits Shoes and his speed will increase from 30 to 50, making him just as fast as Dart. His higher defense and attack, not to mention less hits with additions, will make him a suitable character for anybody to use. Stronger KongolGo to Lohan and talk to the man who sold you the bottle for the water. He will sell you the gold Dragoon Spirit for 1m000 G. Then, go to the weapon shop and buy the Legendary Casque for 10,000 G. Equip him with it. Then, go to the home of the Gigantos and find the Bandit's Ring in the place to the left when you enter. You will have to go out the rightmost door once in to get to the chest. When he has all this, he will be a Dragoonand have the highest attack, defense, and magic defense with a fairly good magic score. Early Golden Dragoon SpiritTo get the Golden Dragoon Spirit early, you must first defeat Gierch. After you go back, do not go to Fletz. Instead, go south (down) to the sign. Then, choose to go to the south of Serdio. Then, go to Lohan. As soon as you enter the main part of the city, the street vendor will offer you a "Shining Mystery Stone" for 1000g. Buy it, and the "Acquired Golden Dragoon Spirit" message will appear. The Dragoon Spirit is for Kongol. Ultimate WargodYou can buy an Ultimate Wargod in Lohan. It makes your additions perform perfectly without any penalty. It may cost 10,000, which may be very hard to get at this point in the game. However, it makes battles much easier and your Dragoons will still level up. Hidden Virage and Wargod AmuletWhen you are in the Forbidden Land near the pink healing thing, there will be two paths. Go forward and you will end up fighting the Grand Jewel Boss. To prepare for the battle, go right instead of forward. You will fight a third Virage Boss. He is not that difficult, and is the weakest of all Virages. Winning will get you 6,000g and 12,000 experience points. Also, if you go to the Phantom Ship you can get the Ultimate Wargod Amulet in a chest. However you must learn the combination. Explore the ship and you will eventually enter a room with five or six ghosts. Go up to them and press [X]. Each ghost will say a number. You must use these numbers to get the correct combination for the chest. At first, you will only get Healing Fog and other items. Eventually, you will get the Ultimate Wargod Amulet. Note: The combination numbers change each time. Also, you only have five chances to get the correct combination. If you fail, the bones on the ground will will form into skeletons that you will have to fight. Easy additions for Dart and RoseChoose the addition you want to master immediately before you battle Michael, the black dragon. Since Michael cannot be hurt unless you hit the weak point, you can keep attacking his armor without harming him. This allows you to use your addition until it is at maximum. This also can be done with Pots and Blue Birds, but they run away. Healing BreezeAfter Lavitz comes from his war meeting, go to his mom's house. Get on the roof and jump over to the stable. Once inside, repeatedly press [X]. On the other side, you will find a chest containing a Healing Breeze. Free water bottleWhen you reach the town of Lohan, you must save Shana. To do this you will need to get a bottle to hold water. After speaking with Dabas, go down the stairs to reach the ground level of the town. When you do this, a merchant will get your attention. He has a bottle, but wants to sell it for an amazingly high price. Keep telling him to take down the price he will eventually offer it for 100g. Select the second choice of "..." and the merchant will give you the bottle for free. Stronger magic itemNote: A controller with a turbo feature is required for this trick. When using a magic item that requires you press [X], enable the turbo for that button and your attack will be much stronger. Recommended fighting teamIf you are a skillful RPG player, your the best team consists of Dart, Hasheal, and Albert. Hasheal has good attack, agility, speed, and Dragoon attack. For King Albert, if you can use his Gust Of Wind Dance you are a very fast person; his dragoon attacks are useful at the end of the game. Secret shopBefore you enter the Black Castle in Kazas to defeat Doel, when you first enter the town you will see a line of arrows (if you have the pointers on). You will see a yellow pointer. Go into that healing hospital and go up to the very top. You will find an old man with a healing business. Do not heal yourself. Instead, go up to the desk and speak to him. He was say "Don't tell the soldiers". The items are weak but may be able to help at least one of your party members. |
