To acquire double shot, you must get captured by a Galaga. If you have one life remaining, it will not work. After you are captured, shoot the Galaga that has your ship. If it turns red, it will not work. If it turns out like your other ships, run into it. You cannot have three shooters.
In the first level, shoot every alien except the one at the bottom right and the one at the bottom left. Then, wait for about fifteen minutes. Be careful so they do not hit you. After about fifteen minutes, you will hear them fire but you see no firebombs. Wait another minute, then shoot the last two bugs. From now on, in every other level they will not fire back. You can now easily practice and play over 100 levels. The only way you can lose your ship is when the aliens run into you.
Go towards an enemy and continuously press A.
