This trick works only in versus mode; after selecting the two fighters hold B+C on both controllers through the "Now Loading" screen until the match starts. This must be done for each fight.
Expert Mode
To get the expert mode, press Back, Forward, Back, Forward, then Forward, Back, Forward, Back at the how to play screen.
Turbo Mode
To make the game faster, while you are selecting a character, hold down START.
